President Barack Obama announced plans to remove all U.S. forces from Afghanistan by the end of 2014, yet violence in the country is still intense and many Americans disagree with pulling troops.
Obma has also come under fire for declining to intervene in the conflict in Syria, which has escalated into civil war.
